I bought this tent a few months ago and have used it 4 times. At first like some have said I was surprised at how light it was and how easy it was to get back in the tent bag. With all my tents I like to add seam sealer and floor sealant just to give it that extra boost of protection. Right away as I inspected the rain fly I noticed the seam tape was sealed pretty well, although it seemed a little sloppily done. I really like the bathtub construction of the floor because it really keeps you dry. The tent is spacious for two people & gear using two people that are 5’11″ between 120-175lbs and full packs. The rain fly uses fabric ties instead of clips like most rain fly’s and it’s a bit of a pain in the ass to attach when it’s windy, cold and/or you are exhausted. I wished I would of known how much of a pain it was. This tent does take on condensation just like a lot of tents but I think it’s a bit much and I usually always have some sort of wet spot on my sleeping bag or anything that touches the side walls. The poles are lightweight and I like how they are magnetic, they snap together smoothly. It’s an easy setup overall (besides the rain fly). The two door system is nice. I’ve used this tent in temps ranging from -7F to 45F and I’ve stayed relatively warm considering the temps (I usually take a bag that rates below -15). Body heat is retained well in this tent especially with two people. I’ve used this in the snow and it has performed well. I still have yet to use it in the rain & high winds and will report back on how it performs.

    Pros:

    Lightweight
    Tent itself easy to setup
    Packs down fairly small
    Sleeps two comfortably plus gear
    Excellent bathtub constructed floor
    Magnetic Pole System

    Cons:

Rain Fly is a pain to setup (ties instead of clips)
If the rain fly touches the tent on the sides you will get lots of condensation, keep it pulled away enough when you stake it

Just remember, you really do get what you pay for. It’s an inexpensive tent made with inexpensive materials.

Overall I would still recommend this to anyone low on cash and in need of a 4 season tent.

Hope this helps and have fun exploring!

Hyper Light Extreme Tent is great! The Alumunum poles are better then fiber glass poles. Easy to set up stays dry and great price compared to other four season tents highly recommend this tent. Good size for 1 person 2 person it will work ok. Save yourself a little money with this tent compare to 2-3 hundred bigger name brands !Used it for motorcycle camping. It says 6# but I am sure out of the box it weighs less it is lightweight.I am Happy Happy with my choice. It is very well made. I love the 2 dooes and 2 vesticles for storage. I got High Peak Mummy bags too and they were cheap 2 for $25 but great bags for the money also. I am a non camper and reseached prices quality weight and this was a perfect tent. If I can put it together anyone can.

I’ve used this tent twice so far – once car camping and once backpacking/camping along the Appalachian Trail. It got down to about 35F both times and my boyfriend and I found this tent is great for holding in heat (especially with the use of a couple of very lightweight mylar sheets – one above, one below.) We love the two-door option and that the rain-fly provides added protection for our gear at one end and a place to keep our boots at the other end. Excellent value!
