I bought this Lil Explorers Jungle Playhut as a gift for my niece, who is 19 months old. Since my sister set it up in their living room, she’s barely left it! She crawls through the tunnels, hangs out in the tent sections, and loves sitting inside to play with her dolls and other toys. It’s big enough to hold a few kids, apparently – when my niece’s little friends are over, there’s room for them all to play together in this playhut! Her big brother (4 years old) also gets a kick out of playing in and around this. Climbing through, playing peek-a-boo, playing his own version of tag with his sister, and tossing around the included balls are some of his favorite things to do. There aren’t too many toys that are good for kids of both their ages, so that’s a definite bonus!

My sister did mention that the 25 balls included in the set seem a bit skimpy to fill the ball pit section, so she’ll be adding another set of balls sometime soon.

Overall, this is a big hit with my niece. It was a great gift, and made me look like the “cool aunt!” :) I’ll probably be getting another for my own son soon!

I ordered this instead of the Mega Playland as it was $20 cheaper than I could find the other one in a store. It was a mistake, this one is going back. The Lil Explorers has no floor in the ball pit and has one flap that you cannot close off and doesn’t have a tunnel to connect to. This means that balls do not remain inside at all. It comes with 25 balls, not 50 as the description states. I added another 300 hundred and it is a more appropriate amount. I went out and bought the Mega Playland instead as it has a floor in the middle ball pit area and a zippered opening on the side that does not shut on the Lil Explorers. It also has openings that you can throw balls back through. It is more money, but is way better as a ball pit. If you are planning on using it just as a tent the Lil Explorers is fine, otherwise skip it.
