Pretend play,sensory integration,even outdoor adventures. It works well with or without the play tent. Even the cat loves it(when the boy is asleep)! We keep it clean and it’s only outside overnight at the most, as intended, and it is in great shape after a spring and summer of play. Good size even for larger, older kids. I’m glad we found it here and at a good price.
