My daughter received this toy for her 3rd birthday from her aunt. At first glance it looks great, but once we started putting it together, the faults appeared. The poles are inside of the tent (big mistake on the designers part), able to be pulled on and then collapses. They should have been able to be inserted into a sleeve. My daughter is a little rough with toys, so like the other reviewer said, this tent should only be for the calmer kids.

I wish this were around when I was little! The concept & color scheme is perfect. Granddaughters love it.

I have to remind them to be gentle with it & do NOT lean on the sides. Otherwise, the poles inside collapse (easy to assemble: just put 4 flexible poles inside – it’s just that if you’re not careful, it’ll collapse again. This makes it easy to dissemble & put back into purple pouch).

Although it looks darling on the single bed (takes up about 1/3 of the length of bed & the width of castle fits exactly with mattress), do NOT let kids play inside while it’s on the bed. The nylon makes it too slippery (this fact is obvious to an adult, however a child doesn’t understand the impact on the noggin if tent falls on floor with child on board: fortunately, no chidren were harmed as I stopped them in time).

This is perfect for the floor of a bedroom or playroom: preferably on carpet. The curtains in the doorway can be tied back. There are no curtains in the 2 windows. I don’t know exact dimensions, it’s circular so if a child is lying down inside, her legs could stick out the door way. It’s made of nylon material. Not meant for camping: just playtime indoors. Perfect for 2 small children to sit down or about 100 stuffed animals (not exact count: I didn’t actually count the animals they put inside castle tent). Girls love to play “Groovy Girls” inside, a little puppet stage, or a place to have quiet time. I suppose it would be a good place for a small dog or cat too, however there are none at our house.

I bought this at a store at a very discounted price due to the box being opened & the instructions being gone. Yes this was an impulsive buy but I’m glad I bought it & I figured out how to put poles in tent easily without instructions. There are actually several small poles attached to each other by a cotton cord so they don’t separate from each other. There are 4 separate pole combos that you actually install. So when you open box, don’t panic: it’s not as confusing as it looks. It’s wise to put this together in the room it’ll be played, without anyone around. It took 10 minutes for me to put together & get it upstairs.

In summary, if your children are gentle with things & won’t jump or crush this castle, they will like it.
